No water, no Cincinnati-style chili 😱

A little (or a lot of) spaghetti, a scoop of your favorite local chili (we're not taking sides- you tell us in the comments which is YOUR favorite) and probably more cheese than is nationally acceptable. That’s a homemade 3-way.

But without water? Dinner’s going nowhere.

highlights how water supports our daily lives, from preparing meals at home to running restaurants across the region.

Your garden could do more than look good.

Through our Every Drop partnership with Northern Kentucky University, students toured SD1’s Public Service Park in Ft. Wright to explore how plants, rain gardens and permeable surfaces help manage stormwater.

One student shared a simple way to make a difference at home: “Using a rain barrel and using the water for your garden.”

Another wrote: “I thought today’s experience was very informative and interesting. I would come back!”

P.S. To the student who shared their fish doodles, we love them!

Where does Greater Cincinnati's drinking water come from? The main source is from the Ohio River.

This , we're joining regional partners on both sides of the river to highlight the importance of protecting our drinking water at its source.

Together with Northern Kentucky Water District, Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO), Greater Cincinnati Water Works and Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati - MSD, we each play a local role across the water cycle.

This includes monitoring water quality and coordinating spill response to providing safe drinking water, treating wastewater, managing stormwater and protecting the waterways that connect our communities.

What’s your connection to the Ohio River?

Sewer work is complete at Newport Shopping Center!

As you check off your shopping list, we’re checking off a project that helps reduce sewer overflows and protect local waterways.

We installed a larger sewer line and repaired existing pipe to handle more wastewater during heavy rain. Paving is complete, and grass is growing in restored areas.

Thank you for your patience during construction!
