🚒 Framingham Fire Department Staffing Shortage: An Important Discussion at Tonight’s City Council Meeting

Tonight, Local 1652 President Rokes and Framingham Fire Department Chief Dutcher will address the ongoing staffing shortage that the City of Framingham has been dealing with for quite some time.

As Framingham continues to grow rapidly, with significant new construction and development throughout the city, the demands on our Fire Department continue to increase. Unfortunately, staffing levels have not kept pace with these growing demands.

President Rokes and Chief Dutcher will present a plan to help address this issue, with the goals of improving safety for Framingham firefighters who work tirelessly every day to protect our community and ensuring the safety of Framingham residents.

They will also explain the current staffing gaps. To help illustrate these differences and the challenges facing our department, they will present findings from an independent department GIS study that was done will the help of the International Association of Firefighters through an independent 3rd party.

This is an important conversation about the future of public safety in Framingham. Adequate staffing is essential to protecting both the firefighters who serve our city and the residents who depend on them.

📢 Please tune in and watch tonight’s City Council meeting!

🚒 Framingham Fire Engine 5 hit 100,000 MILES TODAY AND COUNTING! 🚒

That’s a lot of miles spent responding to emergencies, protecting our community, and being there when people need us most!

While 100,000 miles is an impressive milestone, it’s also a reminder that our fire trucks work hard and take a beating along the way. As mileage climbs, so do maintenance demands and the risk of costly repairs.

Keeping our fleet reliable means planning for the future, not waiting for something to break. Replacing apparatus on time is an investment in firefighter safety, emergency response, and the community we serve.
