Dear Friends, Family and Franconians,
This may be the hardest thing I/we have ever had to write about. It is with deep sadness that I inform you our beloved companion Boomer unexpectedly passed away last Saturday. Boomer has come to touch the hearts and lives of hundreds of kids, adults, friends and family. He has been my faithful sidekick at Franconia PD for 9 years and has run and walked the school halls past many a student. His incredible demeanor and temperament made him a friend to all who met him and he will be deeply missed. Aside from being the “Star of the Show” (That’s an “Officer Buckle” reference, good book) he was our family pet first. Boomer was a rescue that we adopted from the ASPCA in 2017. It was Chief Monaghan who showed me his adoption ad and before we knew it Boomer “Woofington” Cashin joined our family. Above all the things Boomer loved in this world, (chasing balls, chewing bones, visiting school, getting belly rubs, and eating treats), he loved his family most of all. He was more than a pet to us; he was truly part of our family. While this is a sad time for our family and FPD, I would ask that you remember the smiles he brought, all the tail wags and treats, and all the “Whooo Whooo whooos” as he greeted friends. Boomer, you spread love and joy everywhere you went, you will be missed by all.
You were the best, and we love you !
Sincerely,
The Cashin Family
