Could a government list keep eligible Kentuckians from voting?

In yesterday's meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on State Government, Keturah Herron, KY State Senator, pressed officials for answers and requested the full list to ensure that people whose voting rights have been restored can cast their ballots.

Recently, Keturah Herron, KY State Senator, joined ONE Lexington, the University of Kentucky Community Innovation Lab, survivors, young people, and community partners for the fourth annual Youth and Young Adult Gun Violence Symposium.

The discussion focused on responding after a shooting, preventing retaliation, and supporting survivors and their families. Reducing violence remains a priority in Sen. Herron’s legislative work. She continues working with colleagues and community organizations on policies that reach young people earlier and strengthen local prevention efforts.

A medication helped save Joseph’s life and get him on a path toward recovery. This week, he came to Frankfort to tell his state Senator, Reggie Thomas, why access to that treatment is so important.

Their conversation focused on the barriers Kentuckians face when seeking care and what lawmakers can do to make effective treatment more accessible.

Sen. Thomas was grateful to Joseph for speaking candidly about his experience and helping move this work forward.

Senate Democratic Leader Senator Gerald Neal joined higher education leaders and policymakers in Owensboro last week for the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education’s 2026 Trusteeship Conference.

During the legislative leaders’ panel, Sen. Neal discussed expanding access, improving affordability, preparing students for a changing workforce, and ensuring public investments deliver meaningful results.

Senate Democrats remain committed to helping Kentuckians enter college or career training, complete a valuable credential, and use that education to strengthen their families and communities.
