HEROISM RECOGNIZED 🇺🇸

Two Kentucky Air National Guard members were recognized for their heroic actions during the Joint Committee on Veterans, Military Affairs and Public Protection (VMAPP) meeting at the Capitol in Frankfort, Oct. 21.

State Rep. Steve Bratcher, representing District 25, presented U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Sarah Cobb and Col. Daniel Dierfeldt with citations of valor for their actions Dec. 14, when they helped save the life of an Airman experiencing cardiac arrest.

Their quick response and decisive actions exemplify the dedication, professionalism and commitment to taking care of fellow Airmen that define the Kentucky National Guard.

Please join us in congratulating Master Sgt. Cobb and Col. Dierfeldt on this well-deserved recognition! 👏

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Noy Boriboune, deputy G-1, noted the benefits of stepping outside the traditional military work environment.

“It brings us together, builds camaraderie and helps restore that esprit de corps,” Boriboune said. “It also gets us away from the screens and phones. We’re able to laugh, have conversations and still be productive.”

We wrapped up the 2026 youth deer season with a “bang” literally! These kids were in their best behavior among the 600 KYNG troops who were on site for training. We are so thankful to the Kentucky National Guard, Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center-Army, and Deputy Commander LTC Curtis Michael Persinger for hosting our 4th annual youth hunt.
18 hunters, who were absolute marksman, and harvested 11 deer providing food for their tables.
18 mentors, who guided and encouraged our hunters.
The very best support staff a team could ask for.
It keeps getting better and better, and we are looking forward to 2027!
