Great day for The Rotary Club of Franklin at Noon Franklin Rodeo and City of Franklin Parks.

Many hands made this possible but can’t thank City of Franklin Staff, Devin Gilliam Pat Dunn enough for working to see this through!

A memorial to one of Franklin’s oldest traditions will be unveiled next week.

Ed was always supportive and encouraging in so many ways. He had a way about advocacy that allowed him to be a part of helping build what Franklin is today. I’ve heard it said we sit in the shade of the trees planted by prior forward thinking generations. Many future generations in Franklin will enjoy the “shade” of trees Ed Silva planted and watered including our Main St, many historic assets and initiatives and our thriving business community.

Ed you will be missed.

In Loving Memory of Ed Silva

Ed Silva was a True Southern Gentleman, and his commitment to preservation was witnessed by every person that met him. He was one of the supporters who helped get Franklin’s Streetscape over the top - a project that transformed downtown Franklin and helped preserve the character of the community we know and love today. Ed championed and accomplished so much for Williamson County and will be missed.

Great morning of remembering. I issued a charge to make sure future generations always remember and never forget 9/11. We must make sure we remember the sacrifice of so many that day and recommit ourselves to the values that unified our Country after those horrific events 25 years ago!

During last campaign a lot was said about communication regarding comings and goings with BOMA. What a spectacular resource to stay up to date with what’s happening in our City!

Proud to have supported our first responders for years and more recently by working to add new officer positions and making sure we stay competitive with our compensation in a very competitive market. BOMA is committed to public safety as a priority for our community and we will make sure we are recruiting and retaining the best.

BOFT has worked tirelessly for decades to build what visitors and residents experience today. Let us not ever take for granted the long hours, difficult situations, $, and passion that so many have given to make The Franklin Battlefield what it is today.

If you haven’t spent time on it or taken the BOFT tours- please do.

I am proud to support State Rep Lee Reeves for many reasons. First, he has not just gone up to Nashville and focused only on engaging in Statewide issues, he’s remembered who elected him and has focused on funding for Mack Hatcher, battlefield preservation, and helped get e-bike legislation passed to protect life safety on our roads- to name a few. He has always engaged with municipalities and continuously communicated with City Staff and elected representatives to make sure he was supporting legislation at the State that helps local municipalities. This is what you want to see from your State Rep and it is that kind of work that rarely makes the papers. We have always enjoyed that kind of representation in Franklin where collaboration with municipalities and focusing on serving constituents has been a primary focus.

I am not convinced that his opponent in the Republican primary would have those same objectives. It is clear to me that Representative Reeves has the ability, the temperament, and the ability to work together for the benefit of our community.

While I am certain not everyone reading this agrees with 100% of his votes- or may not even vote in a Republican primary- I can simply speak from my experience working on the regular and important business of local government- he has been a tremendous asset to this district and we need that kind of representation in the General Assembly.

Matt again says it well regarding annexations and property owner rights and the role of BOMA. I believe property owners should have the right to request annexation as well as deannexation if that’s their desire. Our job is to review what’s in front of us thoughtfully and within the entire context of what has been planned in our planning documents and what is being requested by property owner.
