Thank you to Beau and his family for sharing their tremendous story and a bunch of beautiful stuffed animals for us to share with other young patients at a time when they need some comfort. We had a wonderful visit and tour and we will be stocking the items in our new ambulance.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT | CHIEF Scottie Middleton

The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department is proud to recognize one of our members, Scottie Middleton, on his recent promotion to Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy!
Scottie is now serving on shore duty as an instructor at the Navy’s submarine school, helping train the next generation of Sailors for service aboard submarines.
Reaching this milestone after just six years of Navy service makes an already significant accomplishment particularly noteworthy.
Becoming a Navy Chief represents a significant transition in an enlisted Sailor’s career, carrying increased responsibility for leadership, mentorship and the development of other Sailors.
Scottie, congratulations on this tremendous accomplishment. Your commitment to service and leadership, both to your country and your community, makes us proud to call you one of our own.

Dry Hydrant Update
At the recent Board of Selectmen meeting, the Fire Department sought clarification regarding the maintenance, repair, and easement processing for our town’s non-functioning dry hydrants.
We are pleased to report that the Board of Selectmen has officially designated the Franklin Fire Marshal to take administrative ownership of the dry hydrant program moving forward. The town administration has committed to keeping the Fire Department updated.
The Fire Department would like to formally thank the Board of Selectmen and the Fire Marshal for stepping up to take on this administrative responsibility.
Securing emergency drafting water is a vital component of protecting our rural neighborhoods and maintaining the town’s ISO insurance ratings. The fire department will continue to adapt responses to maximize mutual-aid tanker shuttles for community safety
We would also like to thank the contractors who provided guidance and estimates. And a big thank you to the property owners for your support and patience.
