Goodmorning Robertson County, The cold front is moving through, and while we’re all excited about the cooler temperatures, we need to remember that this front also brings lower humidity. Combined with our extremely dry grasses, these conditions can increase the risk of grass fires.

Please continue to use extreme caution when working outdoors today and throughout the weekend. A single spark from welding, grinding, mowing, or other equipment can quickly turn into a dangerous fire.
Stay Safe and Stay Blessed!

Looking Ahead: wildfire danger is expected to increase across East & Central Texas as we approach the weekend.🔥

Gusty winds behind a cold front could raise the potential for wildfires.

Now is the time to make a plan and be prepared to follow directions from local officials.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday, mainly in western North Texas. A cold front will move through North and Central Texas Thursday evening/night. Much cooler and windy weather will follow on Friday, with highs in the 60s and 70s, sustained winds of 20-30 mph, and gusts to 40 mph.

Do you notice how muggy it feels today? That's because of high Precipitable Water (PW) values over SE TX. Thanks to persistent onshore flow, lots of Gulf moisture is being advected inland and causing increased humidity today. Plus, high PW helps increase rain chances.

An unusually warm and humid airmass will be in place across North and Central Texas through Wednesday this week. Temperatures will climb into the 90s both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. In conjunction with an increase in dew points, feels like temperatures will range from the mid-90s to around or just above 100 degrees each day. Precip chances will also increase throughout the week. Tuesday afternoon very isolated showers and storms (10-20%) will be possible across Central and Eastern Texas. By Wednesday, isolated thunderstorms (20-30% chance) will be possible across most of the region with the approach of our next storm system.

Let’s show up and support our first responders.
