MVC • BENNETT ROAD

Crews are on scene on Bennett Road for the second MVC tonight involving a vehicle leaving the roadway and going into the woods. No injuries were reported.

Folks, please slow down. Wet roads and fallen leaves are making conditions slick. Use caution and give emergency crews room to work.

It’s that time of year again for annual pump testing! We’re blessed to have Chief Engineer Zach Ledford on staff, certified to perform this important work. Zach stepped into the role following longtime Chief Engineer Day’s retirement, continuing the work of keeping our trucks ready to serve.

A beautiful evening on the river! Our members pump tested a few trucks during last night’s training, and God was showing out with His handiwork. Grateful for evenings like this and the opportunity to serve our community.

We loved welcoming Cartoogechaye’s kindergarten students for a fire prevention talk and our “Friendly Firefighter” presentation! 🚒❤️

Behind the mask and all that gear is a friend who’s there to help. Their smiles and curiosity made our day, and we hope they left feeling a little safer and knowing they can always count on us.

Congratulations to Lora on 35 years of dedicated service! Over the years, Lora has mentored and helped shape many of our own members. We are humbled and honored to continue working alongside her each day. Thank you, Lora, for your years of service, friendship, and dedication to our community!

It takes a truly special kind of person to dedicate their life to helping others, and today we get to celebrate one of our best. Happy 35th Work Anniversary to Lora Speed-Beegle!

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | UNPLUG WHEN FULLY CHARGED 🔌

A full battery is your reminder to disconnect the charger.

NFPA recommends unplugging devices once they are fully charged. Leaving them connected can add heat and stress to the battery.

Tonight’s reminder from Franklin Fire & Rescue: Take a moment to check what is charging in your home and unplug devices that are finished. Small habits can help keep your family safe.

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK | KEEP CHARGING OFF THE BED

Where is your phone charging right now?

Choose a hard, flat surface rather than a bed, couch, blanket, or pillow. Soft materials can trap heat around a charging device.

Franklin Fire & Rescue encourages families to choose a safe charging spot together and make it part of the daily routine.
