💙 October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month

Losing your baby is an unimaginable loss. WIC honors those navigating this difficult and heartbreaking time, and we are here to support you. 💗

When you are ready, connect with a WIC clinic for resources and support to help you during this time. You can continue receiving WIC benefits for up to six months following your loss.

You are not alone. WIC is here to care for you during hard times. 💖 March of Dimes also offers helpful resources for families navigating pregnancy and infant loss. Visit www.marchofdimes.org/pregnancyandinfantlossmonth to learn more.

Do You Qualify For WIC? 🥛🍎👶🏼

You may qualify for WIC if you are:
🤰 Pregnant
🤱 Breastfeeding
👶 A new mom — including up to 6 months after giving birth if you are not breastfeeding
🍼 Have an infant
🧒 Have a child under 5 years old

WIC eligibility also includes income guidelines and a medical or nutritional need. Many working families may qualify and don't realize it!

WIC can provide nutrition education, healthy foods, breastfeeding support, and other services for qualifying Kansas families.

🗓WIC appointments are available on Wednesdays at the Wilson County Health Department.

The Wilson County Health Department and County Offices will be closed on Monday, October 12th, in observance of the holiday.

We will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, October 13th.
October 13th is our Walk-In Clinic day at Neodesha from 2:30-4:30pm.

October is SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) Awareness Month! We'll be highlighting the issue of sleep-related death and working to educate parents and caregivers about safe sleep environments. Unintentional suffocation is the leading cause of injury-related death among children under 1 year old.
