The fight continues for Officer Brittney Borkowski as she faces Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer). As Brittney and her family navigate this difficult journey, we have an opportunity to show them that they are not fighting alone 💪🎗️

Brittney was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (breast cancer). As she continues her journey through treatment, we want to surround Brittney and her family with the same love, strength, and support that she gives to our community every day.

🚧 Road Closure Notice — Freeburg Homecoming Parade

The Freeburg Homecoming Parade will begin at 4:30 PM today.

Officers with the Freeburg Police Department will begin closing side roads and placing barricades at approximately 4:00 PM.

Please plan accordingly, arrive early, and allow yourself extra time to accommodate the road closures while finding a safe place to enjoy the parade.

🌡️ Heat Reminder: Please take precautionary measures due to the heat. Stay hydrated, seek shade when possible, and remember to stay cool!

🎒📚 BACK TO SCHOOL! 📚🎒

It’s hard to believe, but the first day of school is almost here! As our students, teachers, staff, and families prepare for another school year, the Freeburg Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe, successful, and exciting year ahead!

🚸 A few important reminders:
• Slow down and watch for children in school zones.
• Stop for school buses when the red lights are flashing. 🚌
• Be alert for students walking and riding bicycles.
• Put the phones down and keep your attention on the road.
• Give yourself a little extra time — mornings may be busier than usual.

To all of our students: Work hard, be kind, make good choices, and have fun! We are excited to see all of you back in our schools and throughout our community.

To our teachers and school staff: Thank you for everything you do for our children each and every day.

Another debt of gratitude to the staff at the Freeburg Municipal Pool. Congratulations Blyss!

👏 Help us celebrate Blyss Payne! 👏

We are excited to recognize Blyss Payne, one of our first-year lifeguards, for making her first save during an earlier pool party at the Freeburg Municipal Swimming Pool!

Blyss showed great awareness, quick thinking, and confidence when it mattered most. Her actions are a great example of the dedication and responsibility our lifeguards bring to the pool every day.

Whether during our daily swimming hours or while families are enjoying their private pool time, our lifeguards are ready for any emergency — big or small. We are proud of the training, commitment, and care they provide to keep our swimmers and patrons safe.
