🏓 That's a wrap on Pickleball Pals!

Another fun session is in the books! Our Pickleball Pals spent time building their skills, enjoying friendly competition, and making connections on the court. It was great to see everyone learning, improving, and having fun along the way!

A big thank you to our wonderful volunteers: Sheila Carr, Hardy Clicquennoi, Lanny Rutkin, Rebecca Shriver, Connie Stadel, Jeff Stadel, Kris Zajicek, and Rick Fischer, for dedicating their time and talents to make this program possible. We appreciate all you do!

Some afternoons call for kicking back. Others call for getting up and playing. At Play & Pause, kids can do a little of both! ⏸️▶️

This laid-back, flexible program lets kids choose how they spend their time—get creative at the craft station, play board games, grab some sports equipment, enjoy music and videos or simply hang out with friends. 🎨🎲🏀🎵

And, of course, there are snacks! 🍿

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Ken Collin, a valued member of our community and a dedicated advocate for parks and recreation.

Ken played an instrumental role in shaping the Freeport Park District, serving 20 years on the Board of Commissioners and contributing his time and leadership to the Freeport Parks Foundation. His passion for parks extended beyond our community through his service with the Illinois Association of Park Districts, where he served as Chairman in 2016 and was recognized as the 2023 Illinois Park District Commissioner of the Year.

Ken's dedication to enhancing parks and recreational opportunities has left a lasting impact on our community, one that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

We are incredibly grateful for his years of service, leadership, and friendship. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, Jill, his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

What a season for our Freeport Freedom volleyball athletes!

From exciting matchups against the Rockford Jumpers to a competitive showing at the Special Olympics Regional Tournament, our athletes had plenty to celebrate this season!

At Regionals, Freedom battled through two incredibly close matches, taking a set in each and showing determination every step of the way! The first match against SEASPAR Spartans White ended with scores of 25-23, 21-25, and 14-16. The second match was just as competitive, with scores of 22-25, 25-21, and 13-15.

We are proud of the hard work, improvement, and sportsmanship our athletes showed throughout the season! Congratulations to all our Freeport Freedom volleyball athletes!
