Our volunteers are incredible. Today, Roderick transported three senior dogs to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, where we’re confident they’ll find loving homes very soon. A huge thank you as well to our animal shelter team for the exceptional care they provided and for working hard to connect these dogs with their next chapter.

Meet this stunning 2-year-old black German Shepherd, a smart, athletic, and incredibly handsome boy who is absolutely obsessed with fetch! If you’ve ever dreamed of having a dog who could happily chase a ball for hours, this is your guy. Toss a toy once, and you’ll instantly become his favorite person. He has the kind of joyful enthusiasm that makes every play session fun, and his athleticism and focus are classic German Shepherd traits.

This boy clearly thrives on activity, engagement, and time with his people. One thing we’ve learned about him is that he definitely prefers being out and about over heading back to his kennel, which isn’t surprising for a young, energetic shepherd who would much rather be playing, exploring, and spending time with humans. He appears to form connections quickly and would likely flourish in a home where he can be included in daily life and given regular exercise and enrichment.

With his striking black coat, intelligent expression, and playful spirit, he turns heads everywhere he goes. He would likely do best with an adopter who appreciates the energy and loyalty of the German Shepherd breed and is excited about continuing training, exercise, and bonding activities. Fetch lovers, hikers, runners, or anyone looking for an active companion should absolutely come meet him.

At just 2 years old, he has so much potential ahead of him and is ready for a family who will help channel his enthusiasm into a happy, fulfilling life. Whether it’s endless games of fetch, outdoor adventures, or simply being your devoted sidekick, this beautiful shepherd is ready to leave kennel life behind and become someone’s best friend.

💥Keep Pets Safe in Windy Weather💥

Strong winds can be stressful, and dangerous, for pets. Keep them safe with a few simple steps:

🐾 Bring pets indoors during high winds
🐾 Secure yards and remove loose items
🐾 Create a calm, cozy space to ease anxiety
🐾 Avoid walks until conditions improve
🐾 Check fences and gates for damage
🐾 Make sure ID tags and microchips are up to date

A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your furry family members safe 💨🐶🐱

It's kitten season! It’s the time of year (typically spring through early fall) when cats have the most litters. While it’s adorable… it also means our shelter fills up fast, and tiny kittens need help around the clock.

That’s where YOU come in 💛

We are urgently looking for foster families who can open their homes to kittens for just 3–5 weeks. We provide the supplies, medical care, and support, you provide a safe, warm place for them to grow.... and so much love.

Fostering kittens means:
🐱 Saving lives
🐱 Freeing up shelter space
🐱 Getting all the snuggles (the best part!)

Whether you’re a first-time foster or a seasoned pro, we’d love to have you on the team.

👉 Interested in fostering? Apply today!

Together, we can give these tiny lives the strong start they deserve. 💕https://city.fremont.gov/foster

📣💙 Adoption updates like this are why we do what we do. Hedwig, now Buddy, is thriving in his home, quirks and all. Here’s a little glimpse into his new life:

"Just thought I give you an update on (Hedwig) now Buddy.
Everything’s going good for him, he weighs about 62lbs now, has to be a chihuahua record! Lol! He’s a loving, high energy, needy guy, smart, but very stubborn. Very rambunctious with people or other dogs at first meeting, can’t solve this one, I see professional training in our future, but we all love him."
