BIG NEWS FOR MENIFEE COUNTY AND THE ENTIRE RED RIVER GORGE REGION!
This is what happens when counties work together toward a shared vision!
On Wednesday, October 21st, USDA representatives, including the USDA State Director, gathered at Beattyville Town Square to officially announce a $149,767 USDA Rural Business Development Grant award supporting tourism across our five-county region!
Through our Fellowship of the Gorge partnership, Lee, Powell, Wolfe, Menifee, and Estill counties came together to pursue this incredible opportunity, with Lee County serving as the fiscal agent. This grant will help fund regional wayfinding signs and a regional tourism website featuring an interactive map to help visitors explore our beautiful region, discover outdoor adventures, experience local attractions, and support our small businesses.
What does this mean for Menifee County?
It means greater visibility for our county, more opportunities to showcase our incredible natural beauty and attractions, and a chance to connect visitors with the unique experiences and local businesses that make Menifee County special!
From Cave Run Lake and Longbow Marina to Broke Leg Falls and our many outdoor recreation opportunities, we have so much to offer. By working together, we can help more people discover what makes our corner of Kentucky so special!
Regional partnerships are powerful. When we collaborate instead of working alone, we create opportunities that benefit all our communities. This project is about more than signs and a website. It is about growing tourism, supporting local businesses, strengthening our regional economy, and creating a brighter future for our counties.
A huge thank-you to the USDA, our Fellowship of the Gorge partners, and everyone who helped make this possible. We are proud that Menifee County is part of this exciting regional effort!
Five counties. One region!
