🗣 Your vote is your voice. Although it’s difficult when we see so much blatant corruption in the political system, we have to remember that our elected officials work for US. They are public servants. When the majority of the population supports a yet they continue to accept money from fossil fuel executives and corporations, they are no longer serving the public and they must be held accountable. WE need to hold them accountable. The way we do that is by using our . There is no greater threat to life on this planet than that of the . If your elected official does not believe that this is an extremely urgent issue, then that elected official must be replaced. Whether it’s a local election, a federal election, or anything in between, this absolutely must be considered when choosing a candidate. If we want to see a and a then we must elect officials who prioritize it. Elections will be in November this year. Even if you have decided that you are not voting for either of the two major candidates, please show up to on down ballot races. These are absolutely crucial and should not be protested for any reason. We need LOCAL officials to fight for these causes. Bernie Sanders stressed that this movement did not begin with him and will not end with him. He emphasized that this needed to be a massive grassroots movement. Here in the Central Valley we suffer the worst from air pollution. This should be an urgent issue for all residents of Fresno. We must place pressure on the state and to stop poisoning the air we breathe. We all know somebody with respiratory issues.

‪Although COVID-19 is on everybody’s minds right now, it’s important to acknowledge that the threat of climate change is not gone. We know that fossil fuel emissions cause respiratory illnesses, and that having a respiratory illness makes COVID deadlier. ‬
For many places around the country, this is a problem. Here in the Central Valley, where we have some of the WORST air in the country, this is a MAJOR concern. Many of us in the Central Valley are at an elevated risk of death due to the polluted air that we breathe.‬
