We are three weeks into Library Card Sign Up month, and we have signed up 2,379 Fresno County residents for their new library card! Our goal is 3,000 new library cardholders by the end of the month, and we need your help. What can you do? Share with friends and family who do not yet have their own card about the wonderful benefits of being a Fresno Library user. Cards can be obtained in person at a branch, or a digital card can be applied for online, allowing access to many digital resources. A visit to a library at a later date, and the digital card can be upgraded to a physical card to be used for all the library has to offer.

For this week's Tuesday movie night, we will explore the musical side of the Coen Brothers. Loosely inspired by the life of folk artist Dave Van Ronk, Inside Llewyn Davis follows the escapades of a struggling musician in 1960's Greenwich Village NYC. Fun fact: the musical numbers were actually performed by actor Oscar Isaac and recorded live for the film. Screening starts at 6pm Tuesday 9/23.

Citizenship Preparation Study Group

The Adult Literacy Services Center invites you to attend a Citizenship Study Group at the Betty Rodriguez Library. The sessions focus on the citizenship interview, US history, and civics. This is a reminder that this is for English Speakers looking to prepare for their Citizenship Test. Support with English pronunciation will be available.

Level Up at the Library!

Peterson’s Test & Career Prep can help you prepare for a variety of standardized exams, including college entry exams, vocational exams, and U.S. citizenship. Students can find college planning tools. Job seekers can take advantage of career exploration tools and find help creating resumés. There are additional materials to brush up on foundational skills in math, science, reading, writing, and computer technology.

Tuesday 9/16 at 3:30pm, Master Gardeners returns to Betty with another great program for kids! Materials will be provided for this interactive gardening lesson and there is no registration required. Simply show up ready to have some gardening fun! 🌻
