This Helm building (originally known as the Griffith-McKenzie Building) Helm, whose name it still bears today.

The Helm building (originally named the Griffith-Mckenzie building), was built in 1914 and was Fresno's very first skyscraper. The ornate, ten-story structure was, for a time, the tallest building in California and was upgraded with new air conditioning and elevators in 1936 by its new owner, Frank M. The Helm building was designed by George Kelham, who also designed the Palace Hotel in San Franci
