In observance of Memorial Day, VA Central California offices will be closed as we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Last Friday, VA leaders placed wreaths at memorials and the Walk of Honor to pay tribute to Veterans and their families. Associate Director Syndi Day, Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS) / Chief Executive Nurse Mike Bethel, and Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) Deputy Chief Jose Molina were joined by Veteran David Hernandez in recognizing the service and sacrifice of our Veteran community.

We also want to extend a special thank you to Hinds Lifecare for providing a beautiful floral arrangement in honor of Memorial Day. The display has welcomed Veterans, visitors, and staff in our hospital lobby throughout the past week and served as a meaningful reminder of the spirit of remembrance and gratitude this holiday represents.

For some Veterans, opening up about mental health can feel scary. Concerns about stigma or judgment can make it hard to reach out.

This Mental Health Month, hear how others overcame these barriers and gave therapy a chance. https://www.maketheconnection.net/mental-health-month/
