Today, FCERA’s Board of Retirement recognized Trustee James Hackett for completing all seven modules of the New FCERA Trustee Training Program.

The program helps new trustees build a strong foundation in FCERA’s work through training with key staff in administration, investments, benefits, operations, legal, and technology.

Trustee Hackett officially joined the Board of Retirement as an Alternate Trustee effective January 1, 2026, began onboarding in November 2025, and completed the full program on April 9, 2026.

Congratulations to Trustee Hackett on this achievement and on his commitment to public service.

FCERA’s Board of Retirement approved an approximately $20 million increase to a community investment strategy, bringing the allocation back to its original 1% target.

Since 2018, this strategy has supported:
• 414 mortgages to low-to-moderate income homebuyers
• 14 small business loans supporting at least 85 jobs
• 7 multifamily affordable housing properties with more than 700 housing units
• 7 municipal issuances supporting local infrastructure
