Opa! A successful start to the beloved Greek Fest in District 7! I had a wonderful time grilling and seeing everyone come together. If you haven’t made it out yet, come out to Greek Fest this weekend and experience the food, music, and Greek hospitality for yourself! 🇬🇷

Thank you to everyone from St. George Greek Orthodox Church who make this annual event possible.

🇲🇽 Today, Fresno celebrates the deep connection between our city and Mexico. For generations, Mexican and Mexican-American families have helped build Fresno through their hard work, culture, traditions, and commitment to our community. Proud to honor that history and celebrate the ties that continue to bring us together. ¡Viva México y viva Fresno!

This morning, I attended the California 9/11 Memorial as we marked 25 years since September 11, 2001. We remembered the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families who continue to carry their loss. 25 years later, we honor their memory, courage, and sacrifice. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Wishing everyone a Happy Labor Day! Today, we recognize and appreciate the hardworking people who keep our city moving. Thank you to all of our City of Fresno employees and workers across our community for everything you do. Enjoy the day and take some well-deserved time to rest!

Proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the McKinley Peace Garden, a new space for our community to gather and connect.

Thank you to Caltrans and everyone who helped bring this vision to life! 🧑🏻‍🌾🌼🥬

This Immunization Awareness Month, I’m grateful to the healthcare professionals working to make vaccines and preventive care more accessible in our community.

A special thank you to Dr. Banh, Dr. Dhillon, and the UCSF Fresno Mobile HeaL team for meeting people where they are and bringing care directly into our neighborhoods. Thank you to everyone helping keep our community healthy and protected. 💙💉

Our 8th Annual Beat the Heat brought families together for one last summer celebration. From water slides and ice cream to games, food, and community resources, Romain Park was full of smiles all afternoon. 🌊 ☀️

We were especially proud to help more than 350 kids get ready for the school year with a backpack giveaway. 🎒📚

A huge thank you to all of our incredible sponsors and community partners who came out to make this event such a success. It was a fin-tastic way to wrap up the summer! 🐡 🐠

School is almost back in session, and you'll start seeing new 20 MPH school zone signs across Fresno. 🚸

Slowing down by just 5 mph can give drivers more time to react and help keep our kids safe.

As students head back to school, put your phone away, watch for kids and crossing guards, and remember: if you're running late, be late. Nothing is more important than getting every child to school and back home safely.

Good government starts with putting residents first.

I'm proposing four Good Governance ballot measures focused on protecting essential services, being responsible with taxpayer dollars, increasing accountability, and giving residents a stronger voice in how our city is governed.

✅ Protect funding for roads and public transit without raising taxes.
✅ Keep General Fund dollars invested in Fresno's existing neighborhoods.
✅ Establish real lifetime term limits for City Council.
✅ Create an independent redistricting commission to keep politics out of drawing council district lines.

This Thursday, the Fresno City Council will vote on whether to move these measures forward to the November ballot. I hope you'll follow along and stay engaged.

Today, I announced the first in a series of ballot measure proposals focused on good governance and Fresno's long-term fiscal stability.

With Measure C set to expire next year, the Mayor, Councilmember Karbassi, and I will ask the Fresno City Council to place a local measure on the November 2026 ballot that would maintain the current local sales tax rate not increase it to help protect funding for road repairs, public safety, public transit, and other essential City services.

If approved by voters, the measure would serve as a temporary bridge until a countywide transportation measure is in place, while ensuring transparency through annual independent audits.

Ultimately, this proposal is about giving Fresno voters the opportunity to decide how we continue investing in Fresno's future.
