The 40th Combat Aviation Brigade will be having a Change of Command Ceremony, June 4, 2022 at 1:30 pm.

Outgoing commander Col. Alan R. Gronewold will relinquish command of the 40th CAB to incoming commander Col. William B. Gentle. Please see attached invite for more information.

It's official. The 40th Combat Aviation Brigade colors were cased at a brigade Transfer-of-Authority ceremony at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. Task Force Phoenix has successfully completed its nine-month mission to the Middle East and flies off into the sunset. The baton has been passed to the 11th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade who drive on with the mission of providing full-spectrum aviation operations for Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield. It has been a long and eventful deployment but we made it through with flying colors! Good luck, 11th ECAB! It's been great working with you and we know you'll do us proud. Task Force Phoenix, out!

Here are pics from the Transfer-of-Authority ceremony for Task Force Raptor, 1st Battalion, 168th Aviation Regiment (General Support Aviation Battalion), and Task Force Longhorn, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment (General Support Aviation Battalion), in the base theater at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. The ceremony marked the official end of Task Force Raptor's nine-month mission in the Middle East and the beginning of the mission for Task Force Longhorn. A Transfer-of-Authority ceremony marks the end of the mission for one unit and the beginning for another. Task Force Sovereign, 640th Aviation Support Battalion, cased its unit colors officially marking the end of the battalion's mission in the Middle East. Task Force Rattler, 90th Aviation Support Battalion, unfurled its colors officially assuming the mission from the 640th. The ceremony took place at the MWR theater at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. Job well done, 640th, and godspeed 90th!

Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 40th Combat Aviation Brigade, received their end-of-tour awards in two ceremonies at Camp Buehring, Kuwait. Task Force Phoenix Soldiers in the Support Operations (SPO) Office worked hard over our nine-month deployment to the Middle East overseeing logistics operations throughout the Combined Joint Operations Area. The SPO provided vital logistical sustainment that allowed the brigade to support aviation operations. Key SPO personnel along with other Soldiers were presented with brigade coins for their hard work during a ceremony at brigade headquarters at Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
