The Tower District is getting a much-needed refresh! 🧹

Crews are deep cleaning sidewalks along Olive, Van Ness, Wishon, and Fulton, removing built-up gum, grease, and grime to help keep the neighborhood clean and welcoming.

Everyone has a part to play in keeping the Tower District clean. Let’s do our part to keep it looking its best!

Back by popular demand, $3 Bites Day returns Thursday, October 15, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.! Fairgoers can enjoy some of their favorite foods in bite-sized portions for just $3 each, including mini corn dogs, cinnamon rolls, funnel cakes, tacos, and so much more. Congratulations to Dad’s Cookies on this exciting new chapter in downtown Fresno!

They opened its first brick-and-mortar location in downtown Fresno. When the business was ready to make that investment, they reached out to the City of Fresno Economic Development Department. From connecting them with funding resources and local partners to coordinating with the City’s Planning Department, their team stayed involved throughout the journey to opening day.

Substantial Amendment 2026-01 to the 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan proposes programming $5,807,985.95 in CDBG Local Account funds to eligible activities including: $3,807,985.95 to the Belmont-Sixth-Tulare-First Street Improvements Project, and $2,000,000 to the Princeton-Bond-Clinton-First Street Improvements Project, supporting public facility and infrastructure improvements.

Overnight paving operations will begin Sunday, October 11, along Shaw Avenue between Fruit and Palm Avenues.

Construction is scheduled to start at 6 pm this Sunday night and conclude by 6 am daily until Friday, October 16, pending weather or unforeseen delays. Traffic signals along the corridor may remain in red flashing mode on Monday and Tuesday due to transitions from ground out pavement to existing pavement. Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes to minimize delays should signals remain in flash.

The City of Fresno appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews work to repave Shaw Avenue.

West Fresno is seeing new investment, and there’s more to come! 🌳

From repaving streets and bringing in new businesses to improving our parks, we’re continuing to invest in this community. Today, we’re celebrating the improvements at Nielsen Park, including a brand-new play structure with shade sails and rubber surfacing to give families a safer, cooler place to play.
