The California Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Department has shared a data summary of the current state of health among California children ages 1-10 years.
The mortality rates for Black children are twice those of children of all other races/ethnicities in all age groups. In 2022, the rate was 21.5%.
The morality rate is higher among 1-5 years old. These stages are the most crucial for children’s health and well-being as they’re in the stages of development milestones.
You can track their milestones through the CDC Milestone Tracker app. It can help identify possible delays and concerns. At BIH, we encourage the use of the app as it’s helpful for moms to track their babies’ appointments, milestones, their other children, tips for the baby’s growth, etc.
You can read more information and download the app here https://www.cdc.gov/act-early/milestones-app/index.html
Our babies deserve the best in care, love, and support at every step!
