Best Dressed Kids

Its that time of year again! Please chck out this website to donate clothing and jackets for youth in the foster care system!


Best Dressed Kids assists young people in the Fresno County foster care system to obtain the necessary clothing to allow them to continue in their education and maintain positive self image. Focus Forward promotes this Fresno County service. Young people can visit the store and "shop" for clothing. The Focus Forward Bright Futures program is funded by First 5 Fresno County. The goal of the program is to strengthen families by working with youth who are in the Juvenile Justice System and are pregnant or have children ages 0 - 5.

For incarcerated youth, Bright Furutes includes a parenting program in which the children of the incarcerated youth are brought into the JJC to bond with the parent in a visiting area that is furnished with toys and videos. These sessions are known as "The Parenting Project," a research program from Georgetown University. A trained facilitator ensures the bonding sessions are fruitful for the teen parent, child, and the researchers.
