We are proud to welcome David M. Villarino, former Executive Director of Farmworkers Institute of Education & Leadership Development (FIELD), as our keynote speaker. David began his journey alongside the United Farm Workers in 1972, dedicating decades to representing, training, and advocating for farmworkers, immigrants, and working families. He now serves as the sole proprietor of David Villarino and Associates, a strategic planning, organizing, and program development company that consults with community-based organizations.
As a proud alumnus of Fresno State, Davidโs leadership also extended nationwide, directing presidential primary campaigns under Michael Dukakis. His work has been deeply rooted in family legacy and social justice โ inspired by his in-laws, Cรฉsar and Helen Chรกvez, and his grandfather, Juan De Dios Escobedo Gonzalez, who organized the nationโs first successful school desegregation case, Alvarez v. Lemon Grove School District.
Come learn, reflect, and celebrate a legacy that continues to shape our communities today.
