Welcome to Fresno Humane Animal Services

Fresno Humane Animal Services was founded by a group of like minded people who have been involved in animal welfare for decades. Our goal is to serve the animals and residents of Fresno County and, as of October 1, 2015 we will be providing animal control services for Fresno County. Our focus is on education, animal reunification, adoption, and community safety. We will work every day to save as many lives as possible and to make Fresno County a place that can be looked upon as an example of what a community can do when it comes together to improve the lives of the animals in it.

We asked Ash what makes Maze Runner so special, and here's what she had to say:

"How do I even begin to describe her? She acts like a lap dog considering her size haha. She is one of the gentlest souls I have met here at the shelter. All she wants to do is get her belly rubbed, soak up your love, and just be close to you. There is something so special about her that you really have to experience for yourself. She may start off a little shy; however, the more comfortable she gets with you, the more her playful side starts to shine through. She has this perfect balance of being a cuddle bug who wants all the affection in the world and a goofy girl who just needs someone to bring out that side of her. Sit with her, give her some pets, rub that belly, and let her warm up to you at her own pace. I promise that those little moments are enough to make you fall for her. "

Handsome, sweet, and still learning the ropes of shelter life, Mr. Wilde is hoping his stay with us is only temporary.

This young Alaskan Husky is still settling into his surroundings, but every day we're getting to know a little more about the wonderful dog he is. One thing we already know? He's a pleasure to spend time with. Mr. Wilde walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out to explore alongside his human companions.

While shelter life can be overwhelming, Mr. Wilde continues to show us his gentle side as he adjusts. We can't wait to see him thrive in a home where he can truly relax, build confidence, and let his personality shine.

Some dogs demand the spotlight. Snow is not one of them.

This beautiful Great Pyrenees prefers to take in the world from a distance, quietly observing everything around her. While other dogs may be busy playing, Snow is often found calmly watching, confident in who she is and curious about the world around her.

At nearly 68 pounds, Snow is a gentle giant with a soft soul. She carries herself with a quiet confidence and would thrive with someone who appreciates her thoughtful nature. As a Great Pyrenees, Snow would love a home with space to stretch her legs, explore, and embrace the purpose and independence her breed is known for.

Gordo, now Odin, has officially left the building! 🎉❤️

Today this handsome boy traded his kennel for a couch, shelter life for family life, and waiting for belonging. We couldn't be happier for him as he begins this exciting new chapter with the people who chose him forever.

✨ Three precious lives. One heartbreaking deadline.

All three of these girls need someone to see them, choose them, and give them the chance they’re fighting so hard to hold onto. Their deadline is 10/21 EOD and we are asking our community to rally for them today.

🐾 Zoe
Three years old and grieving the loss of her person. Zoe is becoming more stressed each day and her anxiety is starting to show. Even with all that she’s going through she is gentle with people and does well with other dogs. She walks beautifully on leash and just wants someone to help her feel safe again.

🐾 Maze Runner
One and a half years old and sinking deeper into sadness. After her spay and abort she has become more withdrawn and is now whining in her kennel. She does well with other dogs and listens well. She wants out of the kennel so badly and pulls on leash to go back because it’s the only place she knows. She needs someone to show her that life can be brighter than this.

🐾 Chalupa
Four months old and overwhelmed by shelter life. She is so stressed that she jumps high at the fence line and gate and almost got her foot caught today. She is sweet with people and other dogs but she needs someone to protect her from hurting herself and give her the safe puppyhood she deserves.

Nish may be young, but he already has a heart full of love and a whole lot of potential waiting to blossom outside the shelter. This sweet fella has been growing up with us, learning new things every single day, and hoping his forever family walks through the door soon. 💛

In playgroup, Nish is a total star. He's social, wiggly, relaxed, and respectful. He listens to corrections from both dogs and handlers, showing just how eager he is to learn his manners and be the best boy he can be. 🌟
