This week, we are proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible transportation team that keeps our students safe every single day. From our drivers, monitors, and attendants to our mechanics, dispatchers, and support staff—your dedication, professionalism, and care make a world of difference in our schools and community!
Student safety is a shared responsibility that extends well beyond the bus itself. As part of this week’s awareness efforts, our Director of Transportation—and President of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation (NYAPT)—John Spacht, spoke at the Joint Operation Safe Stop Event at Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District. The event brought together transportation leaders, law enforcement, and community officials to highlight a vital message: the extreme dangers and legal consequences of illegally passing a stopped school bus.
When you see red lights flashing on a school bus, please STOP. It takes all of us—transportation teams, school staff, parents, and local motorists—working together to ensure every child arrives at school and returns home safely.
