Friday Harbor High School Friday Harbor HS is a small HS (~275 students) on San Juan Island in the Salish Sea, in NW WA. We simply ask that participants remain respectful.

Island Innovators, a team of Friday Harbor High School Students, were selected for one of the limited spots in MIT’s 2026 CRE[AT]E Assistive Technology Challenge!

Students will work with the MIT team and technical mentors to design, build, test, and improve assistive technology to benefit an actual student in our community. The goal is real community impact: they will develop a prototype that will make everyday activities more accessible and independent for people with disabilities.
