Frisco, Texas, USA

e Shawnee Trail and connect the north and south of the state in 1838. The road ran through what is now known as Frisco. A village in the area named Lebanon became a large cattle town. The city of Dallas was founded in 1841, south of this area. The community of Frisco began to develop when the railroad reached the area in 1901. As the trains needed water for their steam engines, the depot needed to be established in a location that would allow for a watering hole to be created. Lebanon was deemed unsuitable for this, and thus the railroad stop was placed in modern-day Frisco. The new community that was built around the depot was originally named Emerson. Postal Service, and the town was rechristened Frisco City in 1904, after the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway. Frisco developed into a thriving community, and a center of trade in the agricultural region. The city remained a tiny community of less than 10,000 people until the end of the 20th century, when the city experienced a massive boom. Frisco's location at the edge of the Metroplex has led to its recent growth, as growth within the other cities has simply overflowed into the community. Frisco is now home to many retail establishments, including a large mall and the Stonebriar Center. The city is also home to large operations of T-Mobile, which employers nearly 1,500 people in the city.
