This is one of those stories that stays with you long after the moment has passed.
Last week, a young girl who looked about 13 years old walked up to receive lunch through our Summer Lunch Program.
Before taking her meal, she reached into her pocket and tried to pay.
Our volunteers smiled and explained that the meal was free.
She tried again.
And then again.
Several times, volunteers gently turned away her money because she simply couldn't believe there was no cost.
For a moment, we were reminded that many children are more aware of financial struggles than we often realize. They hear conversations about rising costs. They see parents making difficult choices. They understand when money is tight.
As she realized she could keep both her meal and her money, the look of shock and relief on her face was something our team will never forget.
In that moment, she experienced something powerful: radical generosity.
No payment required. No questions asked. No strings attached.
Just a community coming together to say, "This is for you."
That's the heart of our Summer Lunch Program.
It's about more than providing a meal. It's about making sure children in our community know they are cared for, valued, and supported.
If this story touched your heart, we invite you to help us continue creating moments like this for local children and families.
Because every child deserves to experience the kind of radical generosity that says, "You belong here."

Week 1 of Summer Lunch was a success and it only rained on us one time! 🙌
Thank you to Stonebriar Community Church for helping us kick off the summer and serving local children and families. Through our Summer Lunch Program, children receive free warm meals and snacks throughout the week thanks to our faith-based volunteer partners. On Fridays, families receive fresh produce boxes, and today children also received new books and special reading-themed gifts to take home.
Thank you to everyone helping make summer brighter for local kids!

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2026 Annual Meeting & Celebration, Behind Every Door is a Story.
Last night, our community came together for a unique gallery-style experience that shared the real stories of neighbors whose lives have been impacted by Frisco Family Services.
The evening was also an opportunity to recognize two extraordinary leaders, Geneva Polster and Kevin Peters, who have completed their maximum terms of service on the Frisco Family Services Board of Directors. We extend our deepest gratitude for their years of dedication, leadership, and ongoing commitment to our mission.
Thank you to our board members, volunteers, donors, community partners, guests, and staff for being part of this special evening and for helping us continue to open doors to hope, stability, and self-sufficiency for families across Frisco and Frisco ISD.
Every door has a story. Thank you for helping us write the next chapter.
