Good afternoon, I just wanted to take a minute and give an update on the 2026 tax process. The Board of Supervisors held their 1st meeting of September on Tuesday of this week. In addition to the regular meeting, the annual budget hearing was held. The 2026-2027 budgets were presented. After a time of discussion, an opportunity for questions was given, the proposed budgets were approved.
This completed the setting of budgets for all offices and Departments of the County and Itawamba County Schools.

Immediately following, the tax rate was set to fund the budgets that were approved. The tax rate was lowered by 2 mils for this next year.

The new tax rate goes into effect on October 1st.

Thank you so much for joining our page.
