Oswego County EMO remembers those who lost their lives, stepped up to serve, and the countless other sacrifices made by those who responded to the many tragic incidents that occurred on 9/11/2001. Additionally we want to extend a sincere Thank You to all of the individuals who have stepped up to serve their community as an emergency responder since that day.

- Find a safe place that you can seek shelter if a warning is issued.
- Continue to monitor the weather
- Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts
- Make sure you charge your mobile devices in case the power goes out.

These storms have potential to be impactful, and it’s important to follow instructions from local officials and the National Weather Service when issued.

🔔 Do you have Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled? 🔔

With the chance of damaging storms and isolated tornadoes this evening, some of those alerts may be sent out as a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA, like an Amber Alert). See the graphic for directions to make sure you have yours turned on and can receive these alerts if they’re issued by the National Weather Service.

⛈️ Severe Storms Likely Today ⛈️
Strong-to-severe storms may impact Oswego County and other parts of Central NY today through tonight. Strong or damaging winds and heavy rain may be impactful, and hail with an isolated tornado may be possible as well.

Today is a great day to be Weather Aware and keep an eye on the forecast and radar. The most important thing you can do is make sure you have multiple ways of receiving weather alerts (such as flash flood warnings or severe thunderstorm warnings) if they are issued.
