What will you be doing to celebrate National CERT Week???

National CERT Week will be held annually on the third week of September, in conjunction with National Preparedness Month. In 2026, National CERT Week will be held September 20 - 26. A week-long event, National CERT Week highlights and celebrates the accomplishments of all CERT programs across the country.

There will be a Bounce House, Puppet Show, Face Painting and several other things. Learn about Smart 911 - Meet the First Responders and several others.

Emergencies affect everyone differently, and Callaway County Emergency Management wants to hear from you.
We have created a short Emergency Preparedness Community Needs Survey to help us better understand what members of our community may need before, during, and after an emergency or disaster.

We want to learn more about potential challenges involving emergency warnings and communication, evacuation, transportation, sheltering, power outages, disaster assistance, and other emergency needs—and, most importantly, what we can do better.

The survey may be completed by individuals, family members, caregivers, or representatives of community organizations.
You do not need to tell us what disability or medical condition you have. We aren't interested in labels—we're interested in understanding what you may need and how we can better plan for our community.

Your responses will help us identify planning needs, resource gaps, future preparedness materials, training opportunities, and ways we can work with community partners to improve emergency preparedness and response.

Please share this survey with others in Callaway County. The more we understand about the needs of our community, the better we can plan with you—not just for you.
Participation is voluntary. This survey is not a request for emergency assistance and does not replace calling 911.

Stay safe everyone

Our ongoing heat wave will continue through at least Saturday across the entire area, with a medium chance that the Heat Advisory continues for portions of the area on Sunday. There is a low chance (20%) for rain Sunday and Monday, with a majority of the holiday weekend remaining dry.
