Governor Mike Kehoe issued a proclamation recognizing September 29th as Peer Support Recognition Day. This proclamation coincided with the Region 7 Peer Summit this week that brought Peer Support Specialists from all across Missouri and neighboring states together in Kansas City.
FSH's Certified Peer Support Specialist Team offer services that empower clients to direct their own recovery while promoting skills for coping with and managing symptoms. This incredible team promotes client voice through many channels including Client Rights Training, the CISM Peer Network, and the FSH Hope Project.
Last month, the Peer Support Team was spotted at Missouri Real Voices - Real Choices Conference! Rachel Turner, Audrey Whittenburg, Bryce Bowers, and Derek Vinson shared with attendees what Peer Support Services do for clients at FSH.
Whether it's through education, active listening, birthday and affirmation cards, or equipping clients to become part of a committee, the FSH Peer Support Team promotes person-centered recovery and helps clients grow as self-advocates. Thank you to all Peer Support Specialists for what you do!
