Officer Brown has earned this recognition by continuously going above and beyond in his job duties while always maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Recently Officer Brown was able to locate and remove many items of contraband from The Restrictive Housing Unit, helping to ensure the safety of the institution, staff, and offender population. Congratulations to the Third Shift, Restrictive Housing Team for being name August Team of the month. This month they were tasked with improving the cleanliness of the unit and have gone the extra mile to ensure that their mission was completed. Their efforts helped to provide organization, improve aesthetic appeal and increase efficiency for all staff in the unit. While working towards this goal they ensured to continue completing all regularly assigned task and increasing search efforts within the unit. Even while conducting additional duties, this team does not cut corners and diligently follows security guidelines. While these protocols take additional time, these staff members understand the importance of both cleanliness and security in the unit. Their continued dedication and commitment to excellence makes them worthy of this award.

Congratulations to Officer Badeaux for receiving a Distinguished Service Award. Recently over a two-day period Officer Badeaux was able to locate multiple items of dangerous contraband. Officer Badeaux has shown astounding performance in her searching skills and dedication to her role. Keep up the great work Officer Badeaux!

The Administration here at FRDC would like to give a huge shoutout to our Restorative Justice Organization and all the Residents involved. The Residents volunteer their free time to participate in the RJO garden in order to give back to the community. Their hard work and dedication paid off as just this week they were able to donate over 80 pounds of produce to SERVE INC, a local food pantry here in Callaway County. This donation follows the hundreds of pounds already donated this year. Thank you RJO!

Congratulations to Sergeant Shakespeare for receiving a Warden's Coin of Excellence. Since his promotion in October 2025, he has consistently and professionally kept an open line of communication with all stakeholders. More importantly, he goes out of his way to set a great example for staff in terms of hard work, vigilance, and keeping a solution-oriented mindset. Sergeant Shakespeare works hard and thinks critically every day to make the work in Housing Unit 8 as efficient as possible for staff; as well as creating a calm, consistent, and fair environment for the residents without sacrificing safety and security in any way. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shania Gibbs to the position of Lieutenant at FRDC. Lieutenant Gibbs began her career at FRDC in March of 2018. She had a break in service in April of 2019 and returned to the Department in November of 2022. She then promoted to the rank of Sergeant in March of 2023. Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Gibbs on her promotion.

Congratulations to Lieutenant Slisz for receiving the Zone III Recognition Award. Lieutenant Slisz has recently become the Peer Action Care Team Leader for FRDC. Since becoming PACT Leader, he has vigorously campaigned at the institution for new members. Through his efforts, there were almost 20 applications that were submitted and approved to become PACT members. This is a great accomplishment for the institution, that make Lieutenant Slisz worthy of this award.

Sergeant Edwards' devotion and dedication to our FRDC family is admirable. He has received a Warden's Coin of Excellence for continuously going above and beyond. While assigned to the receiving unit, he would begin each shift by checking in with the receiving supervisors for daily assignments. If there were no assigned details, Sergeant Edwards would be proactive and take the initiative to assist staff in various housing units until needed in Receiving again. He consistently completes his assigned duties in a timely, professional manner. Once zone housing units were assisted, he would then assist with escorts that were needed throughout the camp and continue to take the initiative helping fellow officers until notified by receiving that he was needed back in the unit. His hard work and willingness to help his coworkers daily, has boosted the morale of staff and increased the safety and security of the institution. It shows he has the integrity to do what is required with little to no supervision and that he is a role model for the staff he works with. Congratulations Sergeant Edwards.
