September is National Preparedness Month!

Being prepared can make all the difference when an emergency happens β€” and preparedness starts before an emergency occurs.

This month, the Southern Regional Center team is taking time to learn, prepare, and strengthen our readiness so we can continue to support our community when it matters most.

During our September All-Staff Meeting, team members received information and resources focused on emergency preparedness, safety, and the important role we all play in being ready for the unexpected.

Preparedness isn't just something we practice at work β€” it's important at home, too! Take a few minutes this month to:
🏠 Make or review your family emergency plan
πŸŽ’ Check your emergency supply kit
πŸ“± Make sure you know how you'll receive emergency alerts
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Talk with your family about what to do during an emergency

A little preparation today can make a big difference tomorrow.

Are you prepared for an emergency?

National Preparedness Month is a great reminder to check your emergency supply kit β€” or start one if you don't already have one!

Consider including:
πŸ’§ Water
πŸ₯« Nonperishable food
πŸ”¦ Flashlights and extra batteries
🩹 First-aid supplies
πŸ’Š Necessary medications
πŸ“± Phone chargers or portable power banks
πŸ“» Battery-powered or hand-crank radio
🐾 Food and supplies for your pets
πŸ“„ Copies of important documents

You don't have to build your kit all at once. Start with what you have and add a few items at a time.

A little preparation today can help you and your family be ready when it matters most. ❀️
