🌟 Principal Spotlight: Carlisle Elementary School 🌟

Please join us in celebrating Hope Harris, Principal of Carlisle Elementary School!

With 28 years of experience in education, Mrs. Harris has served Carlisle for 11 years as principal, following her roles as assistant principal and school counselor. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she holds a master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and Instructional Leadership. She is also a certified school counselor and a National Board Certified Teacher.

Mrs. Harris finds the greatest joy in building meaningful relationships with students and watching them grow throughout their educational journey. One of the most rewarding aspects of her role is seeing former students become successful adults who work, raise families, and remain active members of the community.

🏡 Outside of school, Mrs. Harris enjoys spending time with her husband, Ty, and their two daughters, both graduates of Sardis High School. She also enjoys going on mission trips to Brazil and serving others.

Thank you, Mrs. Harris, for your dedication to Carlisle Elementary, your commitment to students, and the positive impact you make in our school community! ! 💙

ParentSquare is moving text messages from the familiar short code to registered 10-digit phone numbers, meeting mobile carrier requirements and giving your school and district families more reliable delivery and clearer, more organized conversations. This transition will begin for Etowah County on 10/21/26.

For families, only the sender number changes. The first time a new number is used, a brief introduction identifies the educator, school, or message type. Direct Messages, class and group posts, and school-wide posts may come from different numbers, and some messages may still arrive from the short code during the transition.

🌟 Principal Spotlight: Mary Beth Gilliland | Whitesboro Elementary School 🌟

This year marks 16 years at Whitesboro Elementary for Principal Mary Beth Gilliland, who has spent her entire educational career serving the Whitesboro community. Throughout her time at Whitesboro, she has served as a classroom teacher, librarian, LRS, assistant principal, and now principal.

Mrs. Gilliland considers it an honor to continue the tradition of strong leadership that has always been a part of Whitesboro, following the example set by former administrators Mr. Don Graves and Mrs. Kristy Towns.

What she loves most about education is the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students every day. Every child she has encountered holds a special place in her heart, and she is grateful to be part of a school community known for its caring staff and welcoming spirit.

💙 For Mrs. Gilliland, Whitesboro Elementary is more than a school—it’s home. She is proud to continue serving the students, families, and staff of the Whitesboro community!
