Borden County, TX Alert: On August 2, 2026, Borden County Water System was notified of low water pressure. After investigation a significant leak was confirmed on the ride away between the county wells located in Dawson County and the holding tanks in Gail. Borden County fixed the leak at 2:00 a.m. and the wells were restarted. Because of the lack of pressure, Borden County has a Boil Water Notice currently in effect. All customers are advised to boil tap water before drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing food.
Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before use. Bottled water may also be used.
This notice will remain in effect until water quality testing confirms the water is safe to consume. We will provide an update as soon as the notice is lifted.
To conserve water so the tanks can fill appropriately, please refrain from watering lawns.
