Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools
outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These
batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they
fail. For more info: fpw.org.

🌧️TROPICAL STORM ISAIAS IS APPROACHING** 🌧️

As Tropical Storm Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast, residents should be preparing for possible severe weather and power outages. If you plan to use a portable generator, make sure you know how to use it safely!

⚡ **Take your generator outside!** Never operate a portable generator inside your home, garage, basement, crawlspace, shed, carport, covered porch, or any other enclosed or partially enclosed space.

Generators produce carbon monoxide (CO), an invisible, odorless, and deadly gas. Keep your generator outside and far away from doors, windows, and vents, with exhaust directed away from your home and people.

Take a few minutes now to prepare and review generator safety tips before the storm arrives. Find more information at www.takeyourgeneratoroutside.com

Stay safe, stay prepared, and remember: Take Your Generator Outside!

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is
warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or
color, or if you see smoke. If it is safe, move the device away
from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can

đźš’ Three new fire trucks, officially in service!

Over the course of this year, Gainesville Fire Rescue celebrated the dedication and push-in ceremonies for Engine 1, Engine 4, and Ladder 8.

The push-in ceremony is a long-standing fire service tradition dating back to the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus, when firefighters had to physically push their equipment back into the station after a call. Today, pushing in a new fire truck symbolizes its official start of service to the community.

We’re excited to have these new trucks serving Gainesville!

Keep an eye out, and you might see one of our new trucks on the road! đźš’đź‘€
