Lick Creek Valley Volunteer Fire Department Lick Creek Valley Fire Department is a volunteer department. We respond not only to fires but to wrecks and to medical calls.

We not only have a great fire team but an elite team of certified first responders!

Now sure if previous post about Art Brannan went through. We are having a benefit pot-luck for Nancy and family on Tuesday, July 14, at Lick Creek FD at 4:00 PM. This is quick but her family is leaving the area on Wednesday. Thank you.

Art Brannan passed away today. He was with our department for many years. His wife Nancy serves on the Board as Secretary. Our condolences go out to her and the family.

Art was available all the time for calls until his illness prevented him from being there. We have lost a great firefighter and friend. He helped us many years selling tickets at our booth during Hootin N Hollarin for the raffles. You could hear his laugh everywhere on the square. He was someone Jerry could rely on to help at the fire house if a need arose. He will be very much missed. Last call to Lick Creek #716.

Our phone has gone out several times in the last two months. It is a problem with the local lines or relay box - not sure but not our specific phone. The service has been out now since Tuesday. If you call here, it will ring but we don't get the call (no ringing here) and our answering machine will not pick up.

If anyone has a land line that keeps going out, please report it to the State Attorney's office. They have an online form for Consumer Complaints. We have done this twice and hope that if others do the same, maybe Brightspeed with permanently fix the problem.

The fire chief's phone is out again. If you call here, it just keeps ringing on your end but does not ring at our house. If you have an emergency, please call sheriff's dept. 417-679-4633 Hopefully fixed today. This is third time this month. So frustrating!!
