Investigator Reaber and ESD K9 River recently visited the White House High School Forensic Science class to demonstrate how River’s nose helps investigators find electronic devices.

River is an electronic storage detection K9 trained to detect the odor of triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO). During the demonstration, River located all four devices hidden throughout the classroom.

Investigator Reaber also explained River’s training and how the team assists with investigations. The students kept the discussion going with great questions and plenty of curiosity!

Thank you to the class for having us!

Access to someone’s phone is not permission to help yourself to their paycheck.

Reginald L. Bland is wanted for domestic assault with bodily injury, interfering with a 911 call, violation of probation and other charges.

Reports allege he assaulted a woman, took her vehicle, and accessed her accounts to transfer approximately $580 to himself.

We have a transfer of our own in mind. It ends at booking.

With 2026 nearing a close and marking the beginning of a new term, we wanted to look back at some of the work completed across the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office in 2025.

The numbers show progress in several areas, including fewer burglaries, fewer domestic violence cases, and stronger outcomes through Animal Services. They also reflect the day-to-day workload handled across the agency, from thousands of traffic stops and jail bookings to more than 10,000 criminal warrants served.

No single graphic can capture everything our deputies, corrections staff, Animal Services, Warrants, and support personnel handle in a year, but these numbers provide a snapshot of the work behind the badge.

As the new term moves forward, the focus remains the same: keep working, keep improving, and keep serving Sumner County.

When we ask for your name, it’s not a multiple-choice question. The correct answer was the one on her birth certificate.

Nora Jean Campbell is wanted for identity theft and other charges after allegedly giving officers someone else’s name during a traffic stop.

She may have borrowed the name, but the warrants belong to her.

The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.

After our recent story involving Text-to-911, we wanted to remind everyone that this works.

Call if you can. Text if you can’t.

Text-to-911 can help people with hearing or speech disabilities, or anyone in an emergency where speaking could put them in danger.

With active cell service that supports texting, send your location and emergency to 911. Use plain words, no slang, abbreviations, photos, videos, or emojis. Reply to the dispatcher when they respond.

Sumner County and many other Tennessee agencies support Text-to-911. If texting isn’t supported in your area, you should receive a message saying your text wasn’t delivered.

Also, old phones can still make voice calls to 911 without an active service plan. Keep this in mind in emergencies, and before letting small children play with them.
