We thought a great way to celebrate was to hear from someone outside the department who recently spent time there.

Bob, a longtime GDE employee, spent approximately one month assisting in Customer Service. The experience gave him valuable insight into the team's daily responsibilities and the level of teamwork required to serve our customers effectively.

One thing stood out right away: Bob spent more time praising the Customer Service staff than talking about himself.

Working the front counter and drive-thru initially seemed challenging, but he said the support and guidance from the team made the learning process much easier. He appreciated how willing everyone was to answer questions, offer help, and provide encouragement along the way.

"They would look at me and know when I was having issues, then they would come over and straighten me out real quick," Bob shared.

He was especially impressed by the team's ability to work together, recognize when a coworker needed assistance, and step in without being asked. He also noted the genuine kindness shown to both customers and fellow employees, as well as the professionalism staff demonstrated during difficult customer interactions.

The experience gave Bob a greater appreciation for the teamwork within the department and a better understanding of the challenges customer service employees navigate every day while continuing to provide excellent service.

Bob summed it up best: the experience was eye-opening and gave him a newfound appreciation for the Customer Service team and the work they do each day.
