The Galloway Township Police Department is proud to announce that Communications Operator Amanda Harris has been named the 2026 Public Safety Telecommunicator of the Year!

Presented by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, this award recognizes a public safety telecommunicator whose professionalism, commitment to public safety, and excellence in communications provide essential support to the effectiveness of law enforcement operations throughout Atlantic County.

We are also proud to recognize Officer Joseph Carchietta, who was named a finalist for the Eric D. Wise Memorial Award for Leadership. These qualities reflect the lasting legacy of Detective Sergeant Eric D. Wise and his service to law enforcement in Atlantic County.

CONGRATULATIONS 🎉Celebrating 20 Years of Service - Officer Mark Williams 🎉

🎉Celebrating 20 Years of Service - Officer Mark Williams 🎉

The Absecon Police Department is proud to congratulate Officer Mark Williams on reaching an incredible milestone, 20 years of dedicated service to our agency and community.

Hired in October 2006, Officer Williams has spent the past two decades demonstrating what it means to serve with compassion, professionalism, integrity, and dedication. Throughout his career, we have received countless examples of the positive impact he has made while assisting members of our community, particularly during some of their most difficult and emotional moments.

One of Officer Williams’ greatest strengths is his ability to communicate and connect with people. Whether helping someone through a crisis, lending a hand to a fellow officer, or simply taking the time to listen, he consistently treats others with respect and compassion.

Over the years, Officer Williams has served as a member of Crisis Intervention and as a dedicated Field Training Officer, a responsibility in which he takes tremendous pride. Through his work as an FTO, he has selflessly helped prepare and mentor several generations of Absecon police officers, passing along the knowledge, professionalism, and values that come from years of experience.

And while police work often brings difficult calls and challenging shifts, we can always count on Mark to bring some much-needed humor to the room. His ability to make his coworkers laugh after a tough situation has helped more than a few difficult shifts feel a little lighter.

Twenty years of service represents thousands of calls answered, countless people helped, many officers mentored, and an immeasurable contribution to the Absecon community.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Mark Williams on 20 years of service with the Absecon Police Department. We thank him for his dedication, integrity, compassion, and commitment to our community, and we look forward to the years ahead.

🚔Congratulations, Officer Williams! 🚔
