What better way to end a busy week than with games and activities at recess hosted by our old and new PAL members? This student led organization really knows how to bring the students together for some fun in the sun!
Peters K-3 Elementary School provides an outstanding education to more than 800 students.

Last night, we hosted our first annual culture night along with our incredible BGC. Games were played, crafts were made, food was eaten, dancing was done, and a fun time was had by all as we not only learned about, but celebrated the many cultures that make up the community here at Peters Tk-6. Thank you to everyone who came out and made this such a wonderful night!
It seemed like a celebration of Peter’s Elementary last night at the annual State of the District dinner with the incredible performance by our 5th and 6th grade chorus students and the numerous students who were featured in the districts Goals 1, 2, and 3 videos. They all truly showcased everything GGUSD has to offer!

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới from all of us at Peters Elementary! Students, staff, and parents were treated to quite the performance by the incredible dancers from Bolsa Grande High School today. They put on an energetic show, and of course the students couldn’t wait to pass out good luck and fortune to the lion dancers.

C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S to our Spelling Bee champ, Evan, from Mr. Condon’s class and our runner-up, Alan, from Mrs. Velastegui’s room! Next up is our district spelling bee in February, where Evan will be representing Peter’s 4-6. Let’s cheer him on as he takes on the top spellers from across the elementary schools in the district!

6th grade students were busy this past week with field trips to the Museum of Tolerance.
Through an immersive hands-on experience of exploring diary excerpts, personal narratives, primary sources, and artifact analysis, they discovered history through the eyes of individuals—Anne Frank, students at the heart of the Mendez v. Westminster case, and Japanese Americans forced into internment camps during WWII. In addition, these scholars learned themes of identity, resilience, and memory while practicing empathy and recognizing the dignity of each person’s story.
