The first question we ask when stopping a young violator...How old are you, we then match that answer to the driver's license. Red Flag 1- are you lying? That makes the decision for a traffic arrest- Driving violations are misdemeanors. No non sibling minor passengers means what? NO/None! And Point A to Point B means the most direct route.
From experience- it's not the best part of the job to make a traffic fatality notification on a teenage driver to their parents. I lost count long ago and don't care to remember from my trooper days. You never forget the images.

Good first day for the Chief’s first day of School Zone Enforcement- 1 speeder( not paying “attention”, now paying the judge) and 1 no seat belt usage….. be easy on me , my pen only has so much ink…… Chief’s First Day @ School assisted by two nice office helpers‼️

PLEEEEEEEZE , please, peeze obey the school zone signs and flashing lights for ALL crosswalks !

ZERO Tolerance...not 21, 22, 23, and above, the sign reads 20MPH during school zone time as posted and flashing. There is a minimum fine for one mile over the speed limit and it could better be spent on groceries.... Same goes when the school bus stops to pick up our most valuable resources-our children. U.S. Confidence in Institutions Mostly Flat, but Police Up Americans' confidence in the police has increased eight points since last year, but average confidence across 14 U.S. institutions remains historically low.

Out of Dodge Weather Service and it very well may affect our area.... be weather ready....

Every GPPD patrol unit carries Pre Breath test breathalizers and the Police Station has the latest breathalyzer in the office. Don't make us utilize them this weekend. DWI/DUI covers anything with a motor, wheels and an operator...............tractors and golf carts/side by sides included.. Be safe!

If you experience these symptoms, it is important to get cool fast. You can do this by moving to a cool place, loosening clothes, sipping water, or putting wet clothes on your body.

Seek medical attention if symptoms worsen, last longer than an hour, or you start throwing up.

Watch the Weather and Forecasts, hydrate, wear sunscreen and don't forget your pets........... !!!!!! To think at my old job at the park today I'd be wearing winter wear at Glacier.....on this date 3 years ago I was sliding on the snow training with my Ice Axe.....GNP is currently 35 degrees this morning...........and 5 years ago my wife and I were in the heat at the bottom of the Grand Canyon about this date in mid June...yes it reads 120 degrees, but it's a "dry heat" LOL.
