It's Hunger Action Week, and Gardiner FFA is doing several activities this week for students 7-12 to earn goodies and prizes. 🎉

Food Drive:
We're excited to hold another FRESH food drive this year! The drive will be going on all week (see orange flyer included for more information)...
***BUT we ask that if students are bringing in fresh foods (i.e., things that go in the refrigerator), please bring them in tomorrow/Tuesday morning Sept. 22, and place them in the appropriate cooler by the front office.***

The Gardiner Food Pantry, where everything will be donated to, is only open on Tuesdays, so they'd like the fresh foods then. Students may still bring frozen foods, toiletries, and paper towels and toilet paper on Wednesday or Thursday this week, and we'll take those items to them on Tues. 9/28.

Don't forget the groups of classes (7+8, 9+10, 11+12) with the highest poundage will receive ice cream sandwiches on Thursday!

Wear Orange Wednesday:
Students should wear orange on Wednesday to highlight Hunger Action Week! Small prizes will be given for those that wear orange.

Food/Hunger Facts:
Students may have noticed facts written on white boards throughout the school (six different facts per day). There will be a Google quiz sent out on Thursday (students can look for it in their email) based on those facts, and those that complete it by Monday morning will get a small prize!

This Thursday:
This Thursday will be Pack Your Trash Day. There will be rules posted around the school, and we ask that everyone participate as intended. We will have homemade baked treats for those who participate according to the rules, to hand out at the end of the day on Thursday.

By highlighting Hunger Action Week, Gardiner FFA hopes to help students become more aware of issues like food safety, healthy food habits, trash waste, food insecurity, and more through actionable activities!

Gardiner Fresh Food Drive for all students in grades 7-12 will be taking place next week!

Please support Hunger Action Week by contributing to the Gardiner School Fresh Food drive September 21-24. Items may be dropped off at school first thing in the morning- DO NOT TAKE DONATIONS TO LOCKERS! Gardiner FFA members will be waiting with coolers near the office for donations to be placed in. All items will be taken to the Gardiner Food Pantry on Thursday, September 24th.

Any student can provide fresh foods like fruits, veggies, dairy, &/or meats (not doing categories by grades this year) as well as paper products & toiletries.

We’re aiming to collect 150 pounds total between all grades 7-12. There’s a contest for the different divisions of 7th+8th, 9th+10th, and 11th+12th, with the winning set of classes getting ice cream sandwiches! Food and toiletries will be weighed by the pound, with rolls of toilet paper/paper towels counted as ½ lb ea. (i.e. higher “value”).

Neighbors helping neighbors! "Nearly 23% of Park County's kids live below the poverty line, and many more live amid financial strain that limits access to healthy meals." https://www.pccf-montana.org/
