Trails Recreation Club

Friends of Trails Recreation Club - We are sorry to inform everyone that due to an illegal withholding of funds by Trails 1 HOA, which partially owns the facility, there is likely to be no pool going forward. It began withholding funds in November so we were not able to do winter maintenance or even keep water in the pool to protect the infrastructure. If you would like information about what you can do to possibly save pool season, please contact acting Board President Christian Vega (972-523-8925).

Thanks for many great years of summer fun! We hope they are not permanently over.

Friends - the nitrites in South Garland's water have reached dangerous levels, essentially poisoning us. Look up the effects of nitrite on the body and test your water with a free test kit from somewhere like Home Depot. The best way to combat this is with a reverse osmosis filter, and the Garland Gazette has been researching those. The plumber I always recommend is Speake's Plumbing... They're installing a reverse osmosis filter at my house and a couple of my friends' houses tomorrow... $599 for the system, 10-year replacement on the system and one year on the filter. Reminder: The pool is closed, but tennis and pickleball courts are open year-round. Grab your rackets and go enjoy the cooler weather!

Alas, friends, the time has come for the sun to set on pool season once again. It's beautiful today, the water is still quite nice... Come enjoy one last dip before we lock it up on Monday.
