Shout-out to our incredible sanitation crew! We recently received some wonderful feedback from a resident, Tommy, who wanted to recognize the dedication and precision of our team.

Tommy highlighted the expert skill of Joseph, who operates our bulk trash claw truck, noting how he managed a large limb pickup near Silver Leaf and Red Pine with such care that his lawn remained pristine. He also shared his appreciation for the courteous team collecting trash bags, along with the consistent, flawless service provided by Moe and our recycling drivers.

We are proud of the work ethic and professional pride our staff brings to every neighborhood in Garland. Thank you to our residents for the support, and a special thanks to those, like Tommy, who look out for our crews on hot days—your kindness is truly appreciated!

In this hands-on role, you'll:

🔧 Install and maintain electrical systems, lighting, controls, and security access systems
🏢 Troubleshoot and repair commercial building systems
❄️ Maintain HVAC equipment and preventative maintenance programs
🛠️ Work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems across City buildings

Garland’s recreation centers will distribute free meals to children ages 1-18 and young adults with disabilities from Monday, June 1, through Friday, July 24.

No registration or proof of income is required. Meals are to be eaten onsite and the child must be present to receive a meal.

Meals will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following locations:
•Audubon Recreation Center, 342 W. Oates Road
•Bradfield Recreation Center, 1146 Castle Drive
•Fields Recreation Center, 1701 Dairy Road
•Granger Recreation Center, 1310 W. Avenue F
•Holford Recreation Center, 2314 Homestead Place
•Hollabaugh Recreation Center, 3925 W. Walnut St.

Lunches will not be served June 19 or July 3. The program is being overseen by the Garland Independent School District.
