INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING THE VIDEO ARE BELOW
If you are currently a certified fire inspector—or are training to become one—please take note:
As of September 1, 2025, a new state law requires your attention.
All fire inspectors must complete a free training video (approximately five minutes long) on inspecting AEDs in Texas schools. This requirement applies even if you do not currently inspect schools.
• Current fire inspectors: Please complete the required video as soon as possible.
• Fire inspector trainees (TCFP certification): You must complete this video to be eligible for certification.
This requirement was enacted by the Texas Legislature during the most recent legislative session and is now a mandatory component of fire inspector certification.
✅How to Access the Training
1. Log in to your personal FIDO account. (If you do not know your FIDO PIN, visit: https://auth.tcfp.texas.gov/Account/ForgotUsername and follow the instructions.)
2. Once logged in, look for the banner containing the link to the required video.
3. Watch the video in its entirety (approximately five minutes).
4. After the video ends, you will have 60 seconds to click the “Complete” tab.
5. Once selected, your completion will be recorded in FIDO, and the banner will disappear.
✅Verifying Completion
To confirm your completion:
• Go to your FIDO profile
• Select Records on the left side of the page
• Select CERTIFICATIONS in the Green Bar
• Scroll down to the bottom of that page and click on SPECIAL under the A List, B List, and College headings.
Your completed training will be listed there. Note: it could take up to 24 hours for it to be visible in your account.
If you experience any issues, please submit a helpdesk request at: [email protected]
