🚧 James Avenue (R35) Safety Improvement Project Complete! 🚧

Hancock County recently completed a safety improvement project on James Avenue (R35) between Britt and Kanawha.

Through an Iowa DOT Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant, Quality Striping Inc. installed centerline rumble strips and wider 6-inch grooved pavement markings along this stretch of roadway.

The centerline rumble strips provide an audible and tactile warning to motorists who begin to drift toward the centerline, while the wider grooved pavement markings improve visibility and help provide a longer-lasting pavement marking.

The project turned out great and provides another important safety improvement for motorists traveling between Britt and Kanawha.

We appreciate the Iowa Department of Transportation's partnership through the HSIP program and the work of everyone involved in completing the project.
